UPDATE: Lukashenko says to meet with Putin on Friday

MINSK/MOSCOW, Feb 4 (PRIME) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, he told reporters on Tuesday, as cited by BelTA.

“Most likely we will meet with president Putin on February 7 (Friday). A certain moment of truth has come. We were the initiators of these relations, why should we break them,” Lukashenko said.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that a meeting of Putin and Lukashenko was prepared for Friday and will take place in Russia.
